Neuropsychological assessments for insurance, medico-legal or clinical purposes
Dr. Deborah Arguedas, DPsych (Clin Neuro)
Cognitive, emotional and behavioural issues can accompany acquired brain injury (ABI). The extent and pattern of difficulties can vary between individuals and the type and cause of brain injury sustained, but they can all greatly impact on many aspects of daily functioning. Cognitive difficulties may be experienced in the areas of memory, attention, language, visuospatial skills, information processing, and higher level thinking skills such as planning and decision making, as well as other skills. Emotional difficulties can include depression, anxiety, PTSD and emotional lability. Difficulty with impulsivity, low frustation tolerance and anger problems can also occur. All of these issues can be diffciult for both the affected person, their family members and careers to manage and adjust to.
Dr. Deborah Arguedas is a highly competent and compassionate Clinical Neuropsychologist with sound training and varied clinical experience. Her goal is to provide customized neuropsychological assessments for people who are experiencing or have experienced neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic illnesses and Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is done through comprehensive neuropsychological assessments using hypothesis-driven and evidence-based approach to testing. Information obtained from a neuropsychological assessment, can assist in elucidating diagnosis and can also assist in the management of identified cognitive deficits, rehabilitation planning, and evaluating the capacity for activites such as work or driving.
